Sakai-senboku Port

Kansai International Airport connects to 73 overseas cities and regions and handles about 600,000 tons of freight per year.
Equipped with two 4000-meter runways — the only ones in Japan — Kansai International Airport operates 24 hours a day. It has a secondary airport island about 280 ha in size, equipped with Japan’s largest freight terminal, allowing the airport to serve as one of Asia’s top air-freight hubs. The nearby Osaka Bay area is also a hotspot for high-tech companies involved in liquid crystal devices, lithium batteries and solar cells. And as home to KIX-Medica, Japan’s first special jointly-operated constant-temperature warehouse for pharmaceutical products (with 750 m² in floor space), the region shows great promise as a distribution center for pharmaceuticals.
